Advanced NITROX dive course

The PSAI Advanced Nitrox Diver Manual is written for those divers who training to utilize enriched air (Nitrox) at oxygen concentrations up to and including 100% by volume (EAN22 to Oxygen) in their diving activities, including stage decompression procedures.

Extended Range NITROX dive course

The Professional Scuba Association International’s (PSAI) Extended Range Nitrox Diver course is designed for those divers who wish to conduct dives beyond 45 meters (150 feet) but not exceeding 55 meters (180 feet), using staged decompression techniques for both depth and extended bottom times. This course uses air as the primary back gas and nitrox(s) as decompression gas(es).

TRIMIX program dive course

The PSAI Trimix Diver courses are designed for those divers who wish to conduct dives using helium based bottom mixes with associated advanced staged decompression techniques. The PSAI Trimix Diver program is conducted in three phases leading to dive depths of up to 100 metres.

Cavern dive course

The Professional Scuba Association International’s (PSAI) Cavern Diver course is designed for those divers who wish to enter areas where direct vertical access is not possible while using proper techniques. This includes overhangs, ledges, simple openings and caverns.

This course is conducted in the “daylight zone” of any solid (rock) overhead. The diver(s) shall not dive deeper than they have been previously certified.

The maximum depth of this course shall be limited to 30 meters (100 feet). Maximum penetration limited to 60 linear meters (200 linear feet) from the surface. Minimum visibility 9 meters (30 feet).

The entry must be horizontal; you can “walk home” to open water as opposed to a vertical entry (“chimney”) that requires a directional (navigational) decision to exit the system. No siphons are allowed.

Intro to Cave dive course

An “Intro to Cave” course is a diving course that introduces sport divers to the basic principles and techniques of cave diving, building upon cavern diving skills. It focuses on safe entry into and exploration of underwater caves, emphasizing line following, emergency procedures, and cave conservation.

Full cave course

A Full Cave Diver course builds upon previous cave diving knowledge and skills, focusing on advanced techniques for navigating complex cave systems. It teaches divers how to manage traverses, jumps, tee intersections, and gaps within caves, emphasizing safety procedures like lost line, lost light, and gas sharing.

Overhead DPV Course

The Professional Scuba Association International’s Overhead Diver Propulsion Vehicle course is designed to teach divers to properly use a Diver Propulsion Vehicle for overhead diving activities. It will discuss the configuration and the peripheral equipment, as well as accessories and maintenance. Course training will be limited to performing penetration distances that DO NOT exceed those that the student is able to safely achieve by swimming and using the “Rule of Thirds” gas management plan. Penetration to greater distances typically requires DPV redundancy and complex gas management plans which are beyond the level of this introductory course.
